improved production levels

PVA’S RESPONSE:
To implement a customized Management Operating System and to provide training and on-the-job coaching to all Supervisors and Managers to increase their levels of active management. Some specific actions that contributed to the results were:

improving the communication of production targets in the production plants and well-fields
-
increasing awareness of the variances effecting uranium production
-
installing planning tools to accurately plan the daily or weekly tasks as per measured standards
-
streamlining the reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
-
increasing the awareness of key cost variables
PROJECT RESULTS:
Some of the results that our Client achieved were:
-
a 45% increase in the number of wells connected in construction
-
a 30% increase in uranium pounds produced per direct man-hour
In addition, improved KPIs were installed in all Direct, Indirect and Construction departments, as well as, Crewing Guides and Master Schedules to optimize the utilization and flexibility of the employees.
PERPETUATION OF RESULTS:
Perpetuation is being realized through PVA’s on-going partnership with this company. They have some of their own employees trained as Continuous Improvement Coordinators to conduct regular system audits and to analyze and action all audit results. PVA is also conducting audits in order to support site-wide management system compliance and a successful implementation of their Continuous Improvement Program.
