ACHIEVING UNIFORM REPORTING ACROSS 4 SITES
COUNTRY: United States
PRIORITY OBJECTIVES:
To develop and implement a uniform Management Operating System with common metrics and KPI’s in all plants, including a comprehensive problem resolution process. This was critical since each of the plants had been acquired over several years and thus had their own systems in place. This project implementation would result in improved efficiency and reduced waste while engaging the salaried and hourly workforce in the improvement process.
PVA’S RESPONSE:
To provide Supervisors and Managers with the appropriate training and coaching and the management tools required to better manage their processes and people. Specifically, the approach focused on getting the results through:
- systems and indicators
- behaviors and productivity
- variance identification / resolution mechanisms and indicators
PROJECT RESULTS:
Some of the results that our Client achieved were:
- Development of enhanced production scheduling and KPI tracking
- 12 % improvement in their manufacturing efficiencies within 12 months
- Drastic improvement in the levels of active supervision leading to problem resolution
- Engagement of the Maintenance staff and development of a detailed productivity report
As planned, a standardized Management Operating System was installed across all sites, thereby attaining a uniform performance reporting system.
PERPETUATION OF RESULTS:
Perpetuation is being realized through PVA’s on-going partnership with this company. They have some of their own employees trained in each of their plants as Continuous Improvement Coordinators to conduct regular system audits and to analyze and action all audit results. PVA is also conducting audits in order to ensure management system compliance and a successful implementation of their Continuous Improvement Program.CLIENT TESTIMONIAL:
"PVA has demonstrated a commitment to us that ensures the sustainability of our success at the plant level. Working with the Director of Continuous Improvement they have developed enhanced tools to drive improved processes and attain the needed behavior modification at the Plant Manager, Department Manager, First Line Supervisor and hourly level. This partnership has yielded drastic improvements in productivity, waste reduction and employee engagement that will drive our improvement on-going."
